If you’re reading this, I’m going to assume you love pecans in almost anything. Me too. When a Facebook friend shared a photo of these delicious-looking pecan tarts, I immediately asked for the recipe.

She told me it was her mother’s recipe, and her mother was known for her delicious cooking. Plus, anything that is heirloom at all has my heart. How special it is to make a handed-down recipe!

I have to say, entirely on a whim on Christmas Eve, I started making this recipe. My kids were very interested – because let’s be honest, when they see me make anything with sugar – they are excited.

It took really no time at all to put these together. Sometimes I stay away from recipes that look complicated or have steps that repeat themselves (thus taking time!). I was just shocked when I finished making these. It was so quick!

I think there is something really special about taking simple ingredients and making them shine. Afterall, we have busy, full lives and to make a complicated recipe with not-so-common ingredients is just not practical most days.

You’re going to need some very simple ingredients to make this one. And brace yourself – I don’t think you’ll be able to eat just one!
